Promenade in Versailles

The three medallions – “The Sun King”, “Marie Antoinette”, and “Horse in Majesty” (“Le Roi Soleil”, “Marie-Antoinette”, and “Cheval en Majesté”) – reveal precious symbols that appear in the decoration and gardens of the Château de Versailles. These include the emblem of Louis XIV illustrated by Apollo’s face, the intricate cypher of Marie-Antoinette, and the majestic horse which was the king’s constant travel companion.
