National Order of Merit
Founded in 1963 by Charles de Gaulle, the National Order of Merit is the second most prestigious French order. It rewards ‘distinguished merit’ and honours outstanding French citizens with one of three ranks – Knight, Officer, or Commander – and two distinct honours: Grand Officer and Grand Cross. Arthus Bertrand presents its collection of decorative insignia and smaller alternatives: miniatures, buttonhole insignia, ribbons, and rosettes.
